In an interview with CBS News, Charlie Rose takes a good look at the woman
behind Garden & Gun's success, Rebecca Darwin, the President and CEO of the
media company she partners with Pierre Manigualt and DeBordieu resident, J. Edward Bell, III, that
owns Garden & Gun. In just four years, the magazine has become one of the
industry's most successful, and a favorite among DeBordieu owners.
When asked what she wanted
readers to know most about the south, she replied, "that we're all not
stupid," which just cracked me up. My other favorite quote came from David
DiBenedetto, the editor and chief. When talking about the content of the
magazine, he said there would be "no religion, no politics, and no SEC
football." How refreshing!
