Happy Anniversary Jeff Kaz!

It all started when Jeff Kaz and I got married on June 2, 1990, and it has truly been 26 years of marital bliss!

We met on the job at DeBordieu where, at the time, Jeff was the Accountant and I was the Marketing Manager and Club Membership Coordinator.

The small ceremony was at St. Mary’s Church in Georgetown. Father Johnny Bench (the priest, not the ball player) officiated. It was a small wedding, attended only by family…… and Helga….one of our all-time favorite co-workers, who crashed…. LOL. And that was OK with us.
After the wedding, we hopped in the limo and headed to the reception at the ocean front DeBordieu Beach Club, where we celebrated with all our co-workers and friends…. except my BFF Kim Fox, who I forgot to invite, and who teasingly reminds me about that about once a week.

June 2 was also my father’s birthday, so we surprised him with a birthday cake and sang “Happy Birthday Archie!”

After the reception, we headed to Charleston, about an hour south of DeBordieu. It was during the Spoleto Festival, so our buddies Julia and Paul Tucker hopped in the limo with us and we rode around the Charleston festivities drinking champagne and acting like big shots. The next morning, we left for our honeymoon in Bermuda.

Currently, we are living happily ever after and still work at DeBordieu where Jeff is the General Manager of DeBordieu Club, and I sell real estate at DeBordieu Colony Real Estate.

What Makes DeBordieu so Special?

DeB Arial creek to beach“What Makes DeBordieu So Special?” Selling real estate on-site at DeBordieu, I get to answer that question a lot. It’s not just one thing….

Generations of families from all over the South have discovered what makes DeBordieu so special is the unique combination of natural and man-made amenities found nowhere else.
They have found this community, quietly tucked away between Pawleys Island and Georgetown, South Carolina to be the perfect place to reside, recharge, and reconnect.

Miles of quiet, secluded beach, peaceful creeks and marshes, private golf, tennis, fine dining, and a bit of South Carolina's famous Low Country charm combine to make DeBordieu one of the most extraordinary communities on the East Coast.

The gorgeous, architecturally diverse homes that have been gently placed here are surrounded by thousands of acres of nature and wildlife preserves.

Golf at DeBordieu can best be described as an exhilarating 18-stop nature tour. A unique collaboration between noted golf course architect Pete Dye and his son, P.B. Dye, resulted in a challenging, but playable course that winds through the stunning maritime forest and marshland of DeBordieu. The flexible Equity Club Membership Program offers four flexible membership plans: Golf, Sports, Tennis, and Beach Social.

With eight Har-Tru clay courts and two hard courts, a comprehensive pro shop and experienced on-site professionals, DeBordieu’s tennis program is second to none. And COMING SOON….. A FITNESS CENTER!

Dining and socializing are always special at DeBordieu. From lunch at the elegant Georgian-style clubhouse, or dining overlooking the ocean at the DeBordieu Beach Club, pleasing the senses is always on the menu. For a more casual take, members and their guests enjoy outdoor dining and entertainment at the ocean front pool, on the deck, or the “Tiki Hut” Gazebo Bar.

All of these attributes combine to make DeBordieu the remarkable place it is. But most importantly, it’s the people who are drawn here, and their appreciation for all DeBordieu has to offer, that make it so very special. For more information, call or text 843-455-4523 or email TroiKaz@DeBordieu.com.
