Ya, I Pray About My Business. SO?
There….I said it. I’ve been really hesitant to write this blog entry because I didn’t want to appear to be bragging, or like I was using my faith to boost my business. But SOMETHING keeps nudging me to write it, so here goes.
I pray about my business….almost every day.
I pray that God will use me as to be a facilitator of His will for the Buyers and Sellers with whom I do business. I pray that He will empower me to use the gifts and talents He has given me to be that facilitator. I also pray that he will keep my character defects in check so I don’t get over-emotional and cuss when things don’t go quite right.
August 26, 2010 was the biggest day of my career. The closings of two very difficult transactions were delayed and ended up being on the same day to the tune of $3.5Million. I am so very grateful to the Buyers, Sellers, Realtors, Attorneys, Paralegals, Inspectors, Mortgage Lenders, Insurance people, Contractors, and everyone else who came into contact with everyone I just named.
Above all, I am grateful to God for giving me the patience, tolerance, acceptance, persistence, and endurance, to see the transactions through to the end without blowing up and blowing the deals. I’m grateful that He brought me back to DeBordieu almost a year ago. And I’m grateful for the people He has put in my path, including my family, who have enabled me to hone my skills along the way.
I’m not bragging….I’m just saying……there’s no way I would be as successful as I am without Divine Intervention. Philippians 4:13 says, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” That has proven to be true for me this year. So I think I’ll keep praying.
There has never been a better time to “prayerfully” consider a purchase at DeBordieu.

  1. The line "...he will keep my character defects in check so that I don't get overemotional and cuss when things don't go quite right" really hits the nail on the head (for me). Your blog is my devotional after another stressful day. Saw info on FB Newsfeed when I returned home after taking my mother for labs at the Cancer Center of the Carolinas. My mother's cancer battle, my health issues, and various roadblocks have worn me down. Lately, it's been one thing after another, but that's the way life is. Have to take things as they come and remember God has our backs time after time. Philippians 4:13 is killer. I'm sure your blog will be a reminder to many others, "All things work together for the good of those that love the Lord and are called according to His purpose." (Romans 8:28) Congrats on your success; it's wonderful you give God the Glory. I know you are a blessing to anyone who encounters you through business or otherwise. You blessed me today, blessings to you as well.
